My first real project work at Silknet Software (now Kana Software) was working under Michael's leadership on an early version of the J2EE successor to an already established COM product. His reputation with the customer, with in-house engineering, and with other consultants impressed me. He was clearly the go-to resource. Later, as I worked independently with other J2EE customers, time and again as I needed deeper knowledge for customization and integration, the best artifacts I would come across had Michael's name on them, demonstrating that he'd graduated from mere expertise to something far more interesting—vision! After KANA, I had the opportunity to work for Michael in private consulting at ETC, where he continued to develop those abilities across a variety of technologies, business environments, and leadership and mentoring roles. I would consider myself fortunate to be offered a third opportunity to work with Michael.
Mike worked with us on a very large, multimillion-dollar, multiyear project as a senior architect for the program. Mike was part of the initial framework team and then took on the responsibilities of the overall architect role. He helped to put together solutions in several critical areas, such as security, external partner integration, workflow integration and portal integration. Mike also played a key role in the performance tuning of the application. Mike is flexible. Mike stepped up to the challenge to deliver high-quality deliverables. It is a pleasure to work with him. I don't hesitate to work with him again.
I have been involved in the computer field since the mid-80s as a developer, architect, manager and entrepreneur. I worked as colleagues with Michael in Silknet/Kana and later I hired Michael as a consultant at Verizon. In this period, Michael Baglio is simply the best computer mind I've had the privilege to meet. He has the ability to be a one-man team as well as work efficiently in large teams, both as a developer and as a mentor.
I had the fortunate experience of work with Mike for over a year when PC Connection was first creating their e-commerce web site. Mike was brought in to lead this effort.
As the leading expert on the team in the area of Internet application development, Mike was very approachable when there were questions from any of the team members. He helped provide an environment that made for a strong, cohesive team. His leadership and mentoring were crucial for the successful completion of PC Connection's first e-commerce site.
I greatly enjoyed working with Mike and know he would be a valuable member of any team.
As lead architect on one of the largest IT software development projects in Massachusetts, Mike was instrumental in our successful application implementation. He exhibited all the key technical and leadership attributes one looks for in such a position:
Beyond his technical knowledge of J2EE, Mike demonstrated particular expertise with performance tuning strategies and techniques.
I would highly recommend Mike for any senior-level technical leadership position. His combination of interpersonal, IT, and leadership skills will allow him to contribute to the success of any IT endeavor.
I’ve worked for Mike for 2 years at lifeiMAGE, and I take pride in writing this endorsement. Mike is one of the most talented and well-rounded leaders I have worked for. He is a highly strategic , hands-on, and effective leader. His organizational leadership style and ability to lead many initiatives among cross-functional teams are to be admired.
At lifeIMAGE, Mike was instrumental in the success of our QA automation and performance test initiatives. He drove inspiration in me as my CTO and I have learned so much from his leadership. I can truly say that working for Mike was a highlight and a pleasure in my professional career. I would highly recommend Mike for any senior leadership position.
Working with Mike was a great experience. Coming to MedAptus with his IT background and understanding of healthcare, he was able to provide direction and a vision for a new product offering that was unique to the healthcare market. He was responsible for leading the development and tech-ops teams and implementing new architecture and processes for the product line, with the goal of streamlining deployment and increasing stability. As a direct report, he provided direction to help me lead the teams responsible for application support, integration services and release management. He is client-focused, ensuring that client needs are addressed quickly and effectively. Personally, I learned a tremendous amount from Mike, both from a technical and business perspective.
I worked with Mike at Codametrix and he stands out as an inspiring leadership role model.
He is one of the rare leaders who can visualize the big picture and architect complex solutions while at the same time being intimate with technical details. He is excellent at building engineering teams from the ground up, mentoring people, resolving conflicts among stakeholders and achieving business outcomes.
He listens keenly to various viewpoints, brings in his rich experience and comes up with effective solutions to very challenging problems. I would highly recommend him for any leadership position that requires a combination of business understanding, deep technical expertise and strong people skills.
Mike’s a rare leader who combines strategic vision with the ability to build solutions from the ground up while playing a key role in applying the latest technology solutions tailored to the opportunity. Combine that with Mike’s calming presence, steady influence, and collaborative spirit during the last 4 years with a pandemic & you realize that nothing prevents Mike from making a lasting impact at a pivotal time & still positioning our healthcare AI start-up for success! One is left feeling fortunate to know Mike professionally and, most importantly, personally.
